Dr. Rubina Husain, with over 25 years of pioneering contributions in Bangladesh’s hospitality and training sectors, holds a pivotal role as the Managing Director of the Institute of Hotel Management & Hospitality Limited. Her PhD from the University of California, focusing on Competency-Based Training in Bangladesh’s hospitality sector, underpins her expertise in developing units of competencies for hotel staff. As a seasoned Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) specialist, she was instrumental in introducing this delivery system in Bangladesh, supported by ILO Dhaka with BTEB. Dr. Husain has significantly impacted policy reform and skills training as the Secretary-General of the Industry Skills Council for Tourism and Hospitality, leading sector reforms and policy. Her leadership roles extend to Sr. Vice-President of the SIYB Foundation of Bangladesh and active involvement in women’s empowerment through Zonta International and the Women Entrepreneurs Association (WEA) for over two decades.
