Seaweed BD is a pioneering initiative in Bangladesh dedicated to sustainable seaweed farming, processing, and marketing. Since 2019, it has been empowering coastal communities, particularly in Cox’s Bazar, by creating economic opportunities through seaweed cultivation. Initially focused on seaweed sheets and powder, the initiative is now shifting towards producing seaweed-based polymers for eco-friendly alternatives. Seaweed BD promotes environmental sustainability while introducing Bangladeshi seaweed to international markets. By leveraging research, innovation, and strategic partnerships, the venture aims to revolutionize the seaweed industry, benefiting both local farmers and the global demand for sustainable marine products.
